What is the CogAT?
The CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) is a standardized test administered to K-12th graders to qualify for in-school gifted programs
The CogAT is designed to measure intellectual ability and problem solving skills rather than specific knowledge
The CogAT is a multiple-choice test with 3 sections/batteries: verbal, nonverbal and quantitative

All tutors score in the 99th percentile on any standardized test this tutor and are subject matter experts in other areas. They are all trained by founder and veteran tutor Charles Mendels in content and strategy.
Micha Mullen
Micha has been with Access since 2015 and has been tutoring since 2010. They are known for their patient, supportive tutoring style, which aims to boost a student’s confidence. They excel in a wide range of subjects, including ACT and SAT prep, mathematics, chemistry, and physics. Most recently, Micha served as an evaluative consultant and test taker for Educational Testing Service (ETS), providing feedback on the question design and content of the new SAT.

James Jacoby
James, who has been tutoring since 2011, excels in working with students of all abilities in mathematics, chemistry, and languages. Before joining Access Test Prep, James worked as a math tutor and a standardized test instructor. James has also volunteered for multiple organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the Sandy Springs International Adult Education Center.
